Higg reporting

How does the Higg index reporting process work?

1. Account Creation and Facility Assessment:

  • Create an account on the Higg platform.

  • Complete the Facility Environmental Module (FEM) assessment for each manufacturing facility involved in producing the product.

  • Provide information on the facility's environmental performance, including energy usage, water consumption, waste generation, and greenhouse gas emissions.

2. Product Module Assessment:

  • Complete the Product Module (PM) assessment for the specific product being evaluated.

  • Provide information on the materials used in the product, the manufacturing processes involved, and the product's end-of-life considerations.

  • Calculate the environmental impacts of the product using the Higg MSI (Materials Sustainability Index) tool.

3. Data Review and Verification:

  • Review the facility and product assessment data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Seek verification from third-party auditors if required.

4. Reporting and Communication:

  • Generate Higg Index reports for both the facility and product assessments.

  • Share the reports with stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and consumers.

  • Use the insights from the reports to identify areas for improvement and communicate the company's sustainability progress.

5. Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly review and update the Higg Index assessments to reflect changes in materials, manufacturing processes, and product design.

  • Set sustainability goals and track progress towards achieving them.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce environmental and social impacts.
